Fundraising

TMS Encourages all Members and Regional Groups to join in the Fundraising Effort! There are just a few simple steps to follow:

  1. Identify fundraising goal and event. Whether a walk-a-thon, Pampered Chef show, auction, raffle, dinner dance or BMX exhibition; whether big or small, every contribution to TMS helps promote education, advocacy and research. Remember, all fundraising will also be in support of the Janus Challenge!
  2. Contact Fundraising Chair for TMS. This is important to make sure we are compliant with non-profit filing requirements, as well as to update the TMS calendar, coordinate with other events and to provide each fundraiser with the information they need to be successful.
  3. Plan event and coordinate with Fundraising Chair for publicity, information and assistance. Use of the TMS logo, website and other publications must be approved by the TMS Board of Directors prior to their use.
  4. The big event! We can announce your event on the TMS website and in the Chronicles.
  5. Close out the event and follow up with Fundraising Chair (fundraising@tmsforacure.org).

Thank you for your support of the TMS mission!

Fundraising: Fall 2009 Report

Current TMS Fundraising Programs

Just in time for holiday shopping, TMS is sponsoring some fantastic ways for you to shop conveniently and at the same time generate donation income to TMS. If you have any questions, please contact Lisa Sterling at fundraising@tmsforacure.org.

The Pampered Chef: There is an online fundraising event from October 1-28. 20+% of the sales value will be donated back to TMS. All you need to do is visit www.pamperedchef.biz/katejensen select “shop online” and choose the host as Mastocytosis Society or Lisa Sterling. Be sure to send this link to all of your friends and family. This is a terrific way to raise funds for TMS and to simplify holiday shopping.

The Full Circle Exchange: TMS is partnering with The Full Circle Exchange in selling Fair Trade Organic coffee, tea and chocolate. 100% of the net profits are put to work back in the community – both globally and locally. TMS will be selling Full Circle products. 30 – 40% of the total sale will be donated back to TMS. Several volunteers are selling Full Circle Exchange products door to door. From those sales, an additional percentage will be dedicated to the “Together With Hope” campaign. A total of 50% of door to door sales will come back to TMS. If you are interested in selling door to door, contact Lisa Sterling. For online sales, shop at www.fullcircleexchange.com/tms. Send all of your friends and family to this link for holiday shopping needs and TMS will benefit!

Together With Hope: Sales of “hope” products support the TMS mission of patient advocacy and support. A portion of sales will be allocated into a special fund for assisting patients and families in desperate financial need in the face of a critical health situation. This program is being initiated in memory of a young patient who recently passed away very suddenly. TMS assisted the family, and in doing so realized the real need for a catastrophic emergency fund. “Together With Hope” was born. It is truly a fund for people who are in need of hope. spacer Together with Hope logo

The “hope” symbol was created by 6 people joined in a circle forming hearts of hope as they clasp hands hands. At the center of joining together with hope is a star representing achievement of the goal. In the case of Mastocytosis, that goal is a cure.

Products that will be available through the TMS store include:

  • 16 oz stainless travel mug with TMS and Together With Hope Logo, $10 ea.
  • Beautiful sets of non-denominational seasonal greeting cards, $15 set of 10
  • Together With Hope laminated double sided bookmarks, $1

The Story of Winny Ninny Poo Poo: This children’s story and picture book was created by Lisa Sterling with illustration assistance from Geri Herd (both Mast Cell Disorder patients) from an online support group discussion. It gives a fun yet serious look into the life of a little girl who learns she has Mastocytosis. The book was published by Sette Publishing of Canada. The picture book, coloring book, audio cd, stickers, bookmarks and handmade rag dolls can be purchased from the TMS store. (more)

Good Search: Raise money for TMS by searching the internet. Use www.goodsearch.com and indicate that you search for The Mastocytosis Society.

I Give: Search or shop with this link, isearch.igive.com, to create a donation back to TMS.

Mission Fish: When you choose to sell something on eBay, you can designate any or all of your sales income back to TMS. Visit www.missionfish.org.

TMS Store: Shop at our online store where all sales support TMS.

Upcoming fundraising projects: This year we will be working on compiling a cook book. The focus will be on member favorites and in particular, recipes which focus on foods which are low histamine and generally well tolerated. We will also show possible substitutions and include nutritional words of wisdom. If you are interested in helping with TMS fundraising projects or if you have ideas, please contact fundraising@tmsforacure.org.
