Erin Cunia is a member of The Mastocytosis Society Board of Directors and serves as the Technology Committee Chair. She is a graduate of Syracuse University with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and a Master of Science in Instructional Design, Development, and Evaluation. Erin consults with academic and corporate clients to develop training and educational materials. She specializes in online instructional delivery, Web-based and computer-based training (WBT or CBT).
Ms. Cunia became involved with The Mastocytosis Society shortly after her diagnosis in 2007. When asked why she became involved in TMS, she replied, "I wanted easy access to the most current information about this disease. Helping with the Web site was something I was certainly capable of, and a way for me to give the information I was finding, to others with this disease. It was a win-win situation."
In addition to volunteering with The Mastocytosis Society, Erin has also been the President of the Student Teacher Parent Association at her son's high school, and Chapter Advisor for the Alpha Chi Omega women's fraternity, Lambda Chapter, at Syracuse University. After finishing her Master's degree in 2005, she continued taking instructional design classes and was accepted to the PhD program for the fall 2006 semester. She hopes to finish her PhD and continue practicing in the field of instructional design.
Erin resides in Manlius, New York, with her husband, Demetrius, son, Ryan (17), two step-daughters, Florica (13) and Aline (11), and Birman cat, Xterra (9).
