New TMS web site has been launched
August 18, 2004On behalf of the members of the Board of Directors, I am pleased to announce that the Mastocytosis Society (TMS) has launched their brand new web site! 2004 Election
June 15, 2004We will be sending out ballots at the end of July for the upcoming election of Directors to be ratified at the Annual Meeting in October. Currently, we have two vacancies on the Board. More
Critical Therapeutics Awards TMS $4,000
May 10, 2004Valerie Slee, Co/ Vice Chair, and Rita Barlow, Chair, are happy to announce receipt of an unspecified educational grant to TMS from Critical Therapeutics of Cambridge, Massachusetts. The grant is in the amount of $4,000 and can be used for various patient education initiatives, including printing and mailing The Chronicles. More
TMS Awards Dr. Cem Akin $44,000 Research Grant
May 1, 2004On behalf of the members of the Board of Directors, I am pleased to announce that the Mastocytosis Society (TMS) has awarded a research grant in the amount of $44,000 to Dr. Cem Akin. Dr. Akin was recently appointed Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine, Division of Allergy and Clinical Immunology, at the prestigious University of Michigan. This appointment follows a successful stint at the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, National Institutes of Health, where Dr. Akin established himself as a leading mast cell researcher and developed novel techniques for identifying mast cell disease and determining the most promising treatment options for patients.
